Marsha Thornburg

Marsha Jean Thornburg, 68, a 19 year resident of Grays Harbor, died at Grays Harbor Community Hospital, Aberdeen, Wednesday, January 29, ,2020. She was born in Ft. Wayne, Indiana May 28, 1951, the daughter of Olos G. and Effie May (Clayton) Fox. She graduated from Northside High School, Ft. Wayne, in 1969. She married Donald F. Thornburg at Fr. Wayne in the First Assembly of God Church on September 7. 1973. They continued to live in Ft. Wayne until 1976 when they went to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. From 1986 to 1989 they lived at Pompano Beach, Florida, before returning to Ft. Wayne in 1989. In 2001 illness struck and they came to Elma in 2003, moving to Aberdeen in 2006. Her husband, Reverend Donald F. Thornburg, pastored at the Church of God in Christ and a non-denominational church in Ft. Wayne, and also a Christian and Missionary Church in Waterloo, IN. Marsha helped others understand the scriptures and was a certified teacher for the mentally handicapped. She had worked with the Good Will industries. She was also a Cancer survivor. She placed her faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and was a member of the faithful at Light and Life Community Church, Hoquiam. Besides her husband of 46 years, Donald F. Thornburg, Marsha is survived by a sister, Paula Jane Linman, Ft. Wayne, IN. A Celebration of her Life will be held 2 PM Saturday, February 8th at Light and Life Community Church, Hoquiam. Pastor Brad Gill and Marsha’s husband, Reverend Donald F. Thornburg, will officiate. A potluck reception will follow in the church’s fellowship hall. A card of condolence with a message or a memory may be sent to the family at www.fernhillfuneral.com Arrangements are entrusted to Twibell’s Fern Hill Funeral Home, Aberdeen.
