Michael Messer

Michael Wayne Messer, 24, a lifelong resident of Aberdeen, died at his home in Central Park, Sunday, March 6, 2011. He was born in Aberdeen, September 5, 1986, the son of Curtis and Charmaigne (Lidtka) Messer. Michael graduated from Weatherwax High School in 2008 and had been an avid bowler and liked to camp with the family at Wynoochee Dam. He liked to go to Ocean Shores, camp and ride the golf carts with his grandfather. He played video games with his brother, Gary, and was very competitive in everything he did, playing cribbage and pinochle with his great grandmother and family. He also was a Texas Hold’em poker tournament player at the Wednesday night tournaments at Little Creek Casino at Kamilche. Friday nights found Michael playing Texas Hold’em with the family at home. At every opportunity Michael and Uncle Clyde would be found watching scary movies. Michael is survived by his parents: Curtis and Charmaigne at the family home in Central Park; his three brothers: Curtis, Jr., Central Park and his fiancé Crystal Eaton, James, Central Park and his fiancé C J. Miller and Gary, Central Park; his great grandmother, Beatrice Townsend, Central Park; grandparents: Sandy and Gary Lidtka, South Aberdeen and Alma and J. D. Messer, Aberdeen; and also many aunts, uncles and cousins. Visitation will be held Friday, March 11th from 9 AM until 5 PM at the Fern Hill Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, March 12th at the funeral home. Reverend Aaron Burtner, pastor of the Elma Alliance Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at Fern Hill Cemetery.
