Peggy Perkins Obituary

Peggy Ann Drake Perkins, 91, former resident of Grays Harbor County, passed away in Tigard, OR, Wednesday, December 13, 2017. She was born in Elma, WA on February 18, 1926, the daughter of Simeon Silver and May Belle (Covey) Drake. She married Ray Perkins in Aberdeen, March 20, 1948 and they operated Ray Perkins Evergreens and later ran Perkins Christmas Tree Farm near Brady for many years. Mr. Perkins died in Tacoma, June 20, 2004. Peggy would move to Tigard 20 years ago to be nearer to her daughter, Rene Perkins Accardo. She was currently a member of the Lake Bible Church in Tigard and at one time had been a member at Central Park Baptist Church, Central Park, WA. She is survived by a daughter: Sandra (Bennet) George, Starkville, MS; a son-in-law: Tom Hamann, Tualatin, OR; and a sister: Rosemary Drake Martin, Wilsonville, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband; a daughter: Rene Perkins Accardo; sisters: Geraldine Drake Grine, Dorothy Drake Towle, Lauretta Drake Valentino and Delores Drake Paterson; and two brothers: Robert Edward Drake and Warren Simeon Drake. A funeral service will be held at 2 PM Saturday, December 16th in the Fern Hill Funeral Home Chapel, Aberdeen. Private interment will take place in Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen, overlooking the Wishkah River among many of her family.
