Richard Quimby Obituary

Richard John Quimby, 73, Aberdeen resident and former member of the Sheet Metal Workers International Association, Local 66, died Monday evening, April 4, 2011 at his home in Central Park, WA. Richard was born on September 24, 1937 in Yakima, WA to George and Vera Adonna ‘Doan’ (McKay) Quimby. He grew up in Yakima. He moved to Aberdeen in 1965. Richard worked with sheet metal his whole life and retired at the age of 62. Richard married Beverly June Perry on June 27, 2007 in Reno, NV. She resides at the family home. Richard had previously been married to Beverly Jo Knoll on July 17, 1965 in San Mateo, CA. She died on October 3, 2005 in Montesano. Richard loved fishing, crabbing, clam digging and shrimping. He also enjoyed taking care of his home and spending time with his family and friends. Richard was very much and man of his word with a heart of gold, but set in his ways. Richard is survived by his wife Beverly in Central Park; two sons: Marc Hoyos and Todd Quimby; three daughters: Coral and husband Jim Barnett, Carolyn and husband Trey Menees and Kelli Quimby; Three step-sons: Steve Perry, John and wife Carol Purdy and Gary and wife Tina Purdy; one step-daughter: Cindy and husband Scott Busch; a brother: Kim Bossler; Four sisters: Adonna Brooks, Tammy Kearney, Tovi Marquis and Linda Dodman; Four grandchildren and twelve step-grandchildren. Richard was preceded in death by a step-daughter Deborah Perry. A potluck gathering of Family and Friends will take place on Friday, April 8th starting at 3 PM at the family home, 6116 Central Park Drive, Aberdeen. Richard was inurned with Beverly Jo at Fern Hill Cemetery, Aberdeen.
