Robert Mill

Wishkah Valley resident, Robert Lester ‘Bob’ Mill, 71, passed away Friday May 5th, 2017 at Grays Harbor Community Hospital surrounded by family and loved ones. Bob was born on December 10, 1945 in Chehalis, WA to Robert Mason and Hazel Virginia (Werner) Mill. He grew up in Raymond and graduated from Raymond High School in 1964. He moved to Ellensburg, WA and attended Central Washington University and received his Master’s in Education. In 1966, Bob married Diana Gill but later separated. He moved to East Wenatchee where he taught Science and Drivers Education for 18 years at East Wenatchee High School. He moved to Portland, Oregon and then to Satsop, WA where he taught at Satsop Elementary. Finally, Bob moved to Forks, WA to teach at Forks High School for 7 years. In July 1990, Bob married Karyn Marie Cornelius in Montesano. He retired in 1999 and moved to Wishkah Valley with his wife and in his spare time substituted at Wishkah Valley High School and taught ABE/GED at Stafford Creek Corrections Center. In his retirement years Bob enjoyed being a DJ at weddings and school dances. Bob was also lovingly known as a ‘Garage Rat’ spending hours in his garage and tinkering on things. He was an avid reader, enjoyed motorcycle riding, camping and hiking. He sang Bass in a Barber Shop Quartet. He was a member of SPEBSQSA. Bob is survived by his wife of 26 years, Karyn Mill of Aberdeen; sons: Todd Mill of Wenatchee and Eddie Larison of Kenmore, WA; daughters: Lisa Friedli of Wenatchee and Karedy Larison of Kent, WA; grandchildren: Morgan, Mason, Mitchell, EmmaWyn and Otto; his mother, Hazel Eichner of Raymond; brother, Fred Eichner of Olympia and sister, Leslie Eichner of Grayland. There will be a celebration of life for Bob on Sunday, June 25th at noon at Tradewinds on the Bay in Tokeland WA, you can contact Leslie with any questions, (360) 589-8137.
