Shirley Pasic

Fifty-two year Montesano resident, Shirley Mae Pasic, died at Summit Pacific Hospital in Elma on Thursday, June 9, 2016. She was 83. Shirley was born in Denver, Colorado, October 22, 1932, the daughter of Clarence A. and Irene (Sweigert) Forster. She was raised in Denver and graduated from high school in 1950. She would receive an AA degree from Colorado Women’s College, now the University of Denver. She married James A. Pasic in Denver on December 26, 1955, whom she met on the ski slopes of Loveland, CO. In the late 1950s they came to Seattle where Jim worked for Boeing and in 1964 they came to Montesano. She would work as the manager of the Culinary Union Trust under the Boyer Insurance Co. of Montesano. She would later manage the trust independently until she retired several years ago. Shirley was a member of The Olympians and she and Jim enjoyed many years of skiing at White Pass and other mountains of the Western United States. She also liked to play bridge, knit and crochette. Besides, Jim, her husband of 61 years of the family home in Montesano, she is survived by 3 sons: Russell F. Pasic and wife Janet Simmelink, Seattle, Robert A. and wife Kimberly Pasic, Vancouver, WA and Thomas J. and wife Crystal Pasic, Bonney Lake, WA; a daughter: Susan and husband Larry Benedict, Bellevue, WA; and also 7 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A private family gathering will take place at a later date.
