Eugene Guilford

Eugene Gordon Guilford passed away Wednesday, July 12, 2017. He was 69. Eugene was born on November 10, 1947 to Harry and Gladys (Jackson) Guilford in San Jose, CA. He graduated from Watsonville High School in 1967 and married the love of his life-Sandra (Scott) Guilford 1 year later on August 4, 1968. Gene joined the United States Army in 1968 where he ranked as a SFC while serving as a Correctional Specialist and Military Police. These positions took him to Vietnam, Kansas, Louisiana, Germany and California. He served for 16 years and earned an array of medals and ribbons. After the military Gene and Sandra moved to Ocean Shores, WA where he became employed as an Allstate agent. His personality made him a great salesman that was inviting to the community. Looking for another challenge after 20 years, Gene transitioned to G.H. transit as a bus driver. This allowed Gene to talk to everybody and learn their stories. Gene loved football. He coached for the European Semi Pro Football League, Pop Warner Football, and several High School Football teams. He was also very active in Civil War Reenactments and had a keen knack for electronics. He was a people person with a gift for gab that will be dearly missed. Gene is survived by his loving wife of 48 years Sandra Guilford of Aberdeen, WA; daughter/son-in-law Leah Guilford-Elenes and Wil Elenes of Aberdeen, WA; and sister Myrtle Disman of Soquel, CA and son Michael Guilford.
