Virgil Arnold

Vigil B. Arnold went to be with the lord January 4, 2020. He was born to Kemp and Nellie Arnold May 1, 1933 in Moclips, WA. His family moved to the Brooklyn-Vesta area when he was 2 years old. Most of his years growing up were in the “Chinatown” area of Brooklyn. He loved being around the log trains and the big steam locomotives. Lots to explore, lots of scrap materials laying around to use to create toys, go-carts, etc. Virgil graduated from North River High School in 1951, in a class of 5 boys. S Shortly after graduation he enlisted in the Navy. He was discharged in 1955. Virgil married Leanne White of Wishkah Valley on April 13, 1963 who is survived at the family home. He worked in the logging industry, with over 30 years as a log loading engineer. After retiring from the woods he worked part time for 8 years at the Best Western Motel in Ocean Shores. He was proceeded in death by our daughter Karla Jean, his mom and step-dad Nellie and Oscar Edwards his dad and step-mom Kemp and Marion Arnold, two brothers, Oscar Jr. Darius; two sisters Margaret and Maxine. He is survived by his wife Leanne, sons Steve (Jenny) and Mark. Four grand children, Cameron, Alyssa, Ethan, and Noah. One great grandson Wyatt. He is also survived by one brother Bill of Everett, three sisters, Donna of Satsop, Bobbi of Gresham, Oregon, and Keri of Billings, Montana. Virgil loved building things like wood toys, He loved music: Gospel, bluegrass, and country. Working on cars, and caterpillar or any kind of equipment. There will be a celebration of life held on January 25th at 1:00 pm at the Wishkah Valley Community Center. In lieu of flowers, family suggests contribution to their favorite charity. Arrangements entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary of Aberdeen.
