Lester “Les” Haskins December 29, 1948 ~ November 2, 2013 Lester “Les” Haskins, 64, passed away on November 2, 2013. The last month of his battle with rectal cancer, he was at home, surrounded by his family. Les was born on December 29, 1948, in Everett, WA to Arnold and Betty Haskins. He graduated from Lake Stevens High School in 1967, and enlisted in the Army, where he specialized in EOD. He served in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970. He was honorably discharged in April of 1970. On July 10, 1970, he married Donna Stevenson, in Leavenworth, WA. In 1972, he studied at Everett Beauty School, where his wife also attended. Upon graduation, he went to work for Edie Adams Cut & Curl. He eventually managed salons in Phoenix, AZ and Las Vegas, NV, for ten years. He traded in his hair shears for a lawn mower and opened Camelback Landscape Maintenance in Phoenix, AZ. After returning to Washington in 1983, he and Donna started Sunspot Landscape Maintenance in Wenatchee, which they ran until he went to work for the Chelan County PUD. He retired from there in February 2005. Les leaves behind his wife, Donna of East Wenatchee; his daughter, Deanna Ramey and husband, Shon of East Wenatchee; son, Buddy Haskins and wife, Kristi of Lacey; daughter, Andrea Hansen and husband, Jay of Rock Island; 13 grandchildren, Samera, Tanner, Mikhayla, Jordyn, Aubrey, Noah, Lizzie, Kelsa, Taylor, Dakota, Anastasia, Riley and Jaylynn; also three great-grandchildren, Alexis, Kendra and Kael; his sister, Chris Williamson of Camano Island; brother, Stan Haskins of Arlington; brother, Loren of the Philippines; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Enid. Les loved the Lord, his family, friends and life in general. He left a beautiful legacy of unconditional love. His hobbies included woodworking, which was his passion, camping, hiking and fishing. Every September, he went salmon fishing in Alaska with his good friend, Larry Shaw.
