David Keniston

David C. “Dave” Keniston, 67, a 30 year Central Washington resident and an 8 year Wenatchee resident, passed away on Friday morning, June 1, 2012 at Central Washington Hospital, following a brief illness. He was born on July 6, 1944 at Dickenson, North Dakota to Charles “Bud” and Amy Rose (Grogan) Keniston. He was raised and attended schools in Missoula, Montana. Following high school, he went to work at a saw mill in Missoula, prior to going to work in the construction industry. He worked in general construction until finding himself in cement finishing. He had worked on the construction projects of many of the northwest dams, before becoming disabled. He moved to Pateros in 1982 and remained there until moving to Wenatchee in 2004. Dave enjoyed going steelhead fishing and panning for gold up on Hart’s Pass. He is survived by his father, Charles “Bud” Keniston. Brewster; two sons, Kevin Keniston, Federal Way, WA and David Earl Keniston, Spokane, WA; one daughter, Christy Keniston-Mayo, East Wenatchee; one step-daughter, Jewelleen “Jewel” Keith, Lincoln, NE; one step-son, Tim Rose, Chicago, IL; two brothers, Terry Keniston, Vancouver, WA and Bruce Keniston, San Jose, CA; four sisters, Sharron Kenniston, Pateros, Wa, Sandy Stone, Brewster, WA, Jeannene Shenyer, Methow, WA and Patty Wolley, Pateros, WA and 5 grandchildren, Kevin Keniston Jr., Federal Way, WA, Jorden Mayo and Austin Mayo both of East Wenatchee, Christopher Keith and Nicholas Keith both of Lincoln, NE. He was preceded in death by his mother, Amy Rose Keniston and one brother, Morris Keniston. A Remembrance Gathering will be held at a later date.
