June Goehner East Wenatchee, Washington Obituary

June Goehner

June D. Goehner, 73, a longtime Wenatchee Valley resident, passed away surrounded by her family at her home in the Cashmere-Dryden area on Friday, July 12, 2019. She was born on October 23, 1945 in Everett, Washington to the late Charles Allen Matheson and Donna Corinne (George) Barrett. Her family made a brief move to Tennessee before making their home in East Wenatchee. She attended East Wenatchee schools and graduated from Eastmont High School. She met and later married Robert Lee Goehner on February 7, 1964 in Dryden. They made their first home together in East Wenatchee and subsequently moved through the Upper Wenatchee Valley including Dryden, Monitor and Cashmere. Once their children were in school, June went to work at Blue Star Growers in Cashmere. She retired as Receptionist in September 2010 after nearly 30 years of service. After retirement, they moved to Grayland, Washington to live on the coast. June loved the beach life, but the realization of missing her grandchildren and their related activities became overwhelming; she and Bob returned to make their home in the Dryden area. They joyously followed their grandchildren’s school and sporting events. June loved entertaining and providing her guests the full five-star dinner party. As an accomplished cook, she showed her love through baking for her grandchildren and close friends. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert “Bob” Goehner of Dryden; two children, Scott (Alma) Goehner, Pendleton, OR and Tammy Keogh of Cashmere, WA; three sisters, Penny (John) Brockwell, Malaga, WA; Phyllis (Don) Copeland, East Wenatchee, WA and Nancy Worley, Cashmere, WA; six grandchildren, Jonathan Goehner, Pendleton, OR; Janet Murphy, Wenatchee, WA; Nicole Dailey, Wenatchee, WA; Neomi Goehner, Spokane, WA; Kyler Keogh and Kaden Keogh both of Cashmere, WA; and one great grandson, William Dailey, Wenatchee, WA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Step Father, Delmar Barrett, one sister, Merle Carpenter and one brother, Jim Matheson. A Celebration of June’s Life will be held on August 3rd at 1:00 p.m. at 11670 Riverbend Drive, Leavenworth, Washington. You are invited to leave a memory for the family on her tribute at www.HeritageMemorialChapel.com. Arrangements are in the care of Heritage Memorial Chapel, East Wenatchee and Cashmere.
