Aino “Ina” I. Carlson August 28, 1926 - June 30, 2017 Wenatchee, WA Ina Carlson, 90, of Wenatchee, WA, passed away at her home on June 30, 2017. She was born August 28, 1926, in Kokkola, Finland, to Toyvo and Tynne Koski. When she was three years old, the family boarded a ship and moved from Finland to the United States. They ended up in Hoquiam, WA, and a few years later, moved to a farm in Winlock, WA. There, they raised chickens, cattle, and grew hay. She finished high school in Winlock, and started working in a local bakery. It was at this point, the man in her life walked in the door. Frank Carlson began stopping by regularly, supposedly to purchase something. They were married on June 1, 1947. After they were married, Frank began attending college while Ina worked in a local bank. After school, Frank began working for Bonneville Power, which caused them to move many times. They lived in Olympia, WA, Vancouver, WA, The Dalles, OR, Anaconda, MT, Longview, WA, and finally, ending up in Wenatchee, WA. All that time, Ina was busy as a homemaker and mother to three children. Later, in Wenatchee, as the children began to get older, she started working outside the home again. She found great fulfillment in picking apples for a local family for many years. Later, she began working at JCPenney’s department store and became manager of the men’s department. She retired from JCPenney’s after many years of gratifying work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, in 2012. She is survived by a brother, Elmer (Pat) Koski of Astoria, OR; three children: Lee (Lorinda) Carlson, Linda (Charlie) Lafferty, and Kelley Carlson, all of Wenatchee, WA; two grandchildren: Joshua Carlson and Angela Mott; and seven great- grandchildren. A Graveside Service for Ina will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, July 7, 2017, at Wenatchee City Cemetery in Wenatchee, WA. Arrangements are by Telford’s Chapel of the Valley, East Wenatchee, WA.
