Marcia Dean Obituary

Our hearts broke when Marcia June Dean passed away suddenly at her home in Wenatchee, WA, on October 14, 2017. She was born in Huntington Park, CA, on June 19, 1953, to Duel and Doris Smalling. She was the youngest of three children. Marcia attended elementary, junior high, high school and graduated from Lynwood High School in 1971. She then attended Cyprus College in Buena Park, CA, where she graduated with an AA in Business. She was a member of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. Marcia was married briefly to Paul Dean and they had a son, Chris Dean. She moved to Richmond, VA, in 1978, and worked as a legal secretary for seven years, before she moved to Wenatchee, WA, in 1995. Nothing was more important to Marcia than her love for her Lord Jesus Christ and family. She attended Wenatchee First Assembly of God for many years. She especially loved cats, and all other animals. She also loved computers and was an avid reader. “You are now in the presence of King Jesus. Dance with the angels little sister….I love you Marty.” Marcia is survived by her brother, Roger (Diane) Smalling of Miami, FL; sister, Jan (Greg) Bean of East Wenatchee, WA; son, Chris Dean; niece, Heather (Garrett) Curtis; great-nephew, Kai Curtis, and great-nieces: Timber and Natalia Curtis, all of Moses Lake, WA; and numerous cousins and friends throughout the United States. She was preceded in death by her parents, Duel and Doris Smalling; brother-in-law, Bob Slominski; and nephew, Lance Slominski. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., at Wenatchee First Assembly of God, 1520 McKittrick, Wenatchee, WA. A reception and fellowship will follow at the church.
