Robert McClain Cartwright Sr., 77, of East Wenatchee, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009. He had lived in East Wenatchee for 11 years. He had been a longtime university professor, teaching in Milwaukee, Wis.; Kent, Ohio; Berkeley, Calif.; Ames, Iowa; and most recently at Wenatchee Valley College. Survivors include his children, Ana Shumway of Seattle, Allison Clerc of East Wenatchee and Robert M. Cartwright Jr. of New York; his brothers, Joseph Cartwright IV and Richard Cartwright, both of Kansas City, Kan.; Bruce Cartwright of Cedar Rapids, Wis.; and his sister, Ruth Ann Cartwright of Kansas City, Mo. A private memorial gathering will be held at a later date.
