Kathleen Patnaude Oak Harbor, Washington Obituary

Kathleen Patnaude

On December 22, 2018, Kathleen Hope Patnaude peacefully fell asleep in death and is resting safely in Jehovah’s memory. Kathy was born July 15, 1945 in Providence, Rhode Island, to Arnold and Anne Marie Pedersen. She was the third of her four siblings. After the birth of her first three children she attended night school and graduated with and AA. She lived in Rhode Island until moving to Washington state in 1980. She and her two youngest moved to Spokane from 1990-1992 and then moved back to Whidbey Island to care for her sick mother. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on December 15, 1974 in Rhode Island. She was known for being out going and out spoken. She had a deep love for people and was very concerned about those whom she knew. She enjoyed telling others about her faith and her God, Jehovah and would take the opportunity to talk to anyone who would listen even when her health would no longer allow her to share in the formal ministry. Attending the Christian meetings were a life line for Kathy. Even if she could not attend the meetings in person she would be sure to listen over the phone or online. Kathy had many loves. She was known for baking and sharing her baked goods with friends and even her pets. Kathy loved to knit and crochet and that love translated into a very large collection of yarn. She had a deep love for her pets and left behind three cats, Missy, Baby Cat and Monster and her loyal dog, Milo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Arnold Pedersen and Anne Marie McGuire, her sister Roberta Baron, and sons, Russell Patnaude Jr. and Scott Patnaude. She is survived by her brother Bill (Karen) Pedersen, sister Patty (Tony) Silveira; her children David Patnaude, Suzy Almekinder, Jason (Enjoli) Patnaude and Matthew Patnaude, daughter-in-law Kim Patnaude-Maples; grandchildren Anthony and Anna Patnaude, Zachary Almekinder, Michiah, Cylas, Kennedi Patnaude; great-grandchildren Liam and Carson Almekinder; as well as many nieces and nephews.
