LaDonna Beritich Tacoma, Washington Obituary

LaDonna Beritich

With the loving comfort of her family around her, LaDonna Beritich, 84, passed away February 8, 2017 in Tacoma, WA. She was born on October 25, 1932 in Wenatchee to Elizabeth and John Pratt but spent the majority of her life in Tacoma. She attended Saint Leo School and graduated in 1951 from Stadium High School. LaDonna met her husband Nicholas Beritich in 1948 and they were married in 1952. It wasn’t long after that they started their family. LaDonna (also known as Donna, Mom, Ma, Grandma, Gram, Grammie, Meemaw, and Mamaw) loved her family and always looked forward to family gatherings. Being a mother was her greatest gift on earth and she was so proud of each and every one of her kids and their kids. Every night at 7pm you would find her watching Wheel of Fortune, followed by an always intense game of Jeopardy. To LaDonna, the little things were what mattered most: A good book with a hot cup of tea and a delicious cookie to dunk, a Thomas Kincade painting, warm fuzzy socks, a blanket, and being surrounded by her family and friends. She was known for her generosity to many charities and was always willing to open her heart to anyone that was in need. She consistently donated to assist her sister in clothing and feeding the homeless community. She is preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and Jack Pratt; stepfather, Wayne Call; nieces, Wanda and Lisa Banks; her eldest son, Pete Call; and her loving husband, Nick Beritich. LaDonna is survived by her children, Nicholas Beritich Jr., Joel (Lisa) Beritich, Christopher (Lorraine) Beritich, Elizabeth Parks, Evie Gronzo (Kevin), Tina Beritich, Kathy Lawty (Josh), Nicole Marsland, and Ted Beritich; 18 grandchildren, Marquelle (PJ), Cara (Stu), Jordan, Ian (Jody), Collin, Alyssa, Tova, Ashley, Jared, Jasmine (Derek), Kyle, Andrew, Kelcie (Nick), Christopher, Paige, Connor, Jacob, and J.T.; and 7 great-grandchildren: Mara, Gracelyn, Easton, Scarlett, Nicholas, Sophia, and Norah. LaDonna is also survived by her sister, Judy Scalf; nephews, Randy Scalf (Shirlen) and Jim Banks; and niece, Michon Caldwell (Brinton). A Rosary will be held Monday, February 13, 2017, 7:00pm at Gaffney Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, February 14, 2017, 11:00am at St Patrick’s Catholic Church. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
