Paul Anthony Lester M.D., 53, born May 6, 1964 in Anchorage, Alaska, went to be with his Lord on July 21, 2017 in Tacoma, Washington. Paul grew up in Tacoma where he attended St. Charles Borromeo and graduated from Bellarmine Preparatory School, class of 1982. He went on to attend the University of Notre Dame, class of 1986, and then Loyola Stritch School of Medicine, class of 1990. Paul served in the Army as a doctor for 7 years, completing his medical residency at Madigan Army Medical Center. The better part of the next 20 years was spent dedicated to providing exemplary care to his patients at his beloved St. Clare Hospital. The last year of his life was spent teaching the Medical Residency Students at Madigan, where he began his medical career. Paul loved his family (work family included), watching his nephew pitch for the Chicago Cubs, and Notre Dame Football. He is survived by his children, Jessica (Garrett Pepich, Fiancé), and Ryan; mother of his children, Jodi Lester; special friend, Kara Tompkins; and his siblings, Jerry (Corliss), Lori (Roger), and John (Kathie). Preceded in death by his parents Rex and Elizabeth Lester; and sister Mary Eason. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church followed by a reception in the Parish Hall.
