Barbara Hale Obituary

On June 4th, 2019, Barbara Anne (Martinec) Hale, loving wife and mother passed away at age 70 due to complications related to breast cancer. Barbara was born April 29, 1949 in Biloxi, Mississippi to George and Yvonne (Trapp) Martinec. She graduated from Mt. Tahoma High School in 1967 and received a BA in Education from Pacific Lutheran University in 1971. On August 22, 1970, she married William Larry Hale where they lived together in Tacoma for a few years prior to relocating to Gig Harbor. Barbara loved the arts; particularly music and the theater. She regularly attended musicals with her daughters and passed on her great taste in music. After retiring, Barbara took up genealogy and enjoyed tracing her lineage through the ages. Barbara was immensely proud of her family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Barbara was preceded in death by her father, George and grandparents, Kurt and Lucy Trapp. She is survived by her husband, Bill, her 2 daughters, Debra (Brandon) and Kelli, her mother Yvonne, her 2 brothers, George (Kelly) and Kurt and several other loving family and friends. A celebration of life will be held on July 7th from 1:30-4:30pm at 4203 Rosedale St. NW in Gig Harbor. The family kindly requests that you make donations in support of breast cancer research and/or the Hospice House in Tacoma, in lieu of sending flowers.
