Donald G Ford Funeral Home P.O. Box 5 Grafton, WV 26354 304-265-1570 Carol Lee Skiles age 65 of Penny Lane, Philippi, WV passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Transitions Healthcare, Washington, Pa. She was born October 20, 1951 the daughter of the late James Denzel Kerns and Rosalie (Taylor) Kerns. Carol is survived by her mother Rosalie; two daughters; Cheryl L. Knotts and husband Stephen R. Knotts of Philippi, WV and Melissa Moore and husband Dan Moore of Wallace, WV ; thirteen Grandchildren and seven Great Grandchildren: two brothers: Roger Barry Kerns of Barbour County, Richard Dwight Kerns and wife Debbie Kerns of Coolville, Ohio; and one sister Pamela Sue Brown of Belpre, Ohio; several nieces and nephews, also a very good friend Diana Conaway of Grafton. In addition to her father she is preceded in death by one Grandson, one Great Grandson also one brother in law: Gary Brown. She graduated from GHS with the Class of 1969. Carol worked as a Medical Records Assistant for the WVU Hospital in Morgantown, WV. She was a member of the Pleasant Creek United Methodist Church, Associate member of the Wallace Volunteer Fire Department and former volunteer of the Taylor County Emergency Squad for about six years. She loved and enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. One tradition they will miss is her yearly call to sing happy birthday to them. She will be dearly missed by all of her family and friends. The family will receive friends at the Donald G Ford Funeral Home Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 3: 00 8:00p.m. and from 1:00 till 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 18, 2017. Funeral services will be conducted at the Donald G Ford Funeral Home on Sunday, June 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Gina Stewart officiating.
