Charles Leonard Spencer, age 73 of Gatrell Street, Grafton, WV passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his residence. He was born April 16, 1944 in Greenbank, WV the son of the late Roy Edward Spencer and Mary Louise (Wilmoth) Spencer. He is survived by five children, Charles Aaron Spencer and wife Stephanie of Grafton, Leah (Spencer) Dillsworth and husband Greg of Philippi, Brian Spencer and wife Jamie (Cyrus) Spencer of Kenova, WV, Grant Spencer and wife Melissa (Kile) Spencer of Bridgeport, WV; Andrea (Spencer) Klepfel and husband Eric of Grafton; five grandchildren, Darian and Audrey Spencer, Chase and Aidan Klepfel, and Brody Spencer; also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his beloved wife Judith Ann “Judy” (Cox) Spencer, who passed away December 13, 2016. Charles graduated from Buckhannon Upshur High School with the Class of 1962 then served in the US Navy from 1962 – 1968. He retired from the CSX Railroad Company in Grafton as a Carman with over 25 years of service. He enjoyed his family, fishing, and flipping houses. The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Wednesday, November 8th from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Thursday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kelly Martin officiating. Interment will follow at the WV National Cemetery in Grafton.
