Donnie Gay

Donnie L. Gay, age 66, of Railroad Street, Grafton, WV passed away Tuesday, November 19, 2012 at the Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV. He was born September 16, 1946 in Weston, WV a son of Geraldine M. “Gerry” (Waggoner) Gay and the late Adrian Lewis Gay. He is survived by three sons, Donald Shawn Gay of Grafton, Joshua Cole Gay of Gold Hill, NC, and Christopher Allen Pinnell and wife Deanna of Independence, WV; one daughter, Rayna Dawn Gay of Grafton; two granddaughters, Taylor Rae Cassell, and Shailynn Shanabarger; one sister, Deborah Sue Shuttleworth and husband Clyde of Grafton; and also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one son, Adrian Cole Gay. Donnie served in the US Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and he was a crane operator for the United Mine Workers. He was a member of the VFW Memorial City Post 3081 of Grafton and the Disabled American Veterans. He was Baptist by faith. The family will receive friends at the Donald G. Ford Funeral Home in Grafton on Friday, November 23rd from 5:00-9:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Orville Wright officiating. Interment will be Monday, November 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the WV National Cemetery in Pruntytown. Military graveside services will be conducted by the VFW Memorial City Post 3081of Grafton, Taylor County Post 12 American Legion, and the D.A.V. Chapter 24 of Grafton.
