Amy Evelyn Hathaway, 99, of Lost Creek, WV passed away on March 11, 2017 just a few days short of her 100th birthday and following an extended illness. She was born June 22, 1917 in Millstone, W. Va., one of 10 children of the late Lon and Mae Downs Powell. Amy was retired from B.F. Goodrich Corp. working in Grantsville, W. Va. where she and her husband spent most of their entire lives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Audy Dye Hathaway in 1997. Amy was also preceded in death by brothers: Paul, Victor, Gail and Rue Powell; and sisters: Virla Poling, Shirley McKown, Lucille Wilmouth, Emma Neal Montgomery and Eva Burton. She was the last surviving member of her generation. She is survived by a son, Larry D. Hathaway and wife Bertha of Lost Creek, W. Va.; grandchildren, Brian Hathaway and wife Shawna of Lost Creek, W. Va., Pamela Kamauff and husband Craig of Warwick, New York, and Allison Caswell and husband Tracy of Lost Creek, W. Va. She also had four great grandchildren, Milo Hathaway, Logan Caswell, Brody Caswell, and Sophia Caswell. There will be no visitation or funeral services. The family will have a private graveside service at a later date. Interment will be in the Mt. Zion Cemetery. Mt. Zion, WV.
