Olive B. Richards, 99 years old, of Big Springs, WV, passed away on August 13, 2017, at Camden Clark Medical Center. Born in Brooksville, WV, on December 30, 1917, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Nellie (Ferrell) Williams. She worked for the Calhoun Board of Education for several years, but most of her life was devotedly spent taking care of her family and friends. As the loving mother of five children, Olive is survived by her daughter Patricia (Richards) Cowan of Big Springs, Randy L. Richards also of Big Springs, and Ritchie (Pam) Richards of White Pine, WV. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren who include Debbie Bush, Boyd (Cammie) Hood, Linda Muniz (Bobby Joe) Cottrill, Angie Muniz (David) Hardbarger, Mike Cowan, Jr., Michelle Muniz (Charles) McCroskey, Christopher (Kayla) Muniz, Mindy (Richards) Barr, Kevin (Robin) Richards, Misty Richards, and step-grandchildren Bruce (Eva) Martin, Ashlea Wilson, and Chris Ford. Her twenty-five great-grandchildren include Ashley (Bush) Fairchild, Dylan Bush, Tracy Hood, Jessica (Stull) Jeffrey, Aaron, Derek, and Alicia Hardbarger, Olivia McCroskey, Hannah, Malachi, Parker, and Zeus Muniz, Mickaylee Cowan, Kamri Richards, Isaiah and Josiah Wilson, Brenlyn Barr, and Bentley Richards. Her step-great grandchildren are Dustin Kirby, Sam Atkinson, Luke and Jake Martin, Madison and Maison Wilson; and brother-in-law, Eugene Richards. Olive also had three great-great grandchildren Marissa and Chelsie Jeffrey, and Aleah Hood. Other special family and friends include Rosemary (Martin) Brown, Jolanda (Medina) Richards, Samantha Cowan and Carolyn McCroskey. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Hale Richards; three brothers Robert, Chester, and Foster Williams; sister Helen Jones; daughters Leah Hood and Joyce Muniz; grandsons Lonnie Hood and Jose Muniz, Jr.; son-in-law Michal Cowan; friend Troy Jones; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral viewing and services will be held at Stumps Funeral & Cremation, Inc., Grantsville, WV, Friday, August 18, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ken Heiney officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 17, 2017 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. The service will be followed by a family dinner at the Smithville Community building in Smithville, WV. A memorial service will be conducted at a later date with interment in the Saunders Cemetery in Big Springs, WV.
