David Hostler

David “Bushrod” Hostler, 71 of Charles Town went to be with his loving wife of 40 years, Darlene Sadie Frye Hostler, on Monday, March 1, 2021 in the Berkeley Medical Center. Born April 11, 1949 in Charles Town, he was the son of the late Roland Hostler and Leona Mae Pierson. He worked in construction as a pipe layer, was a wonderful family man and friend to everyone, was a peaceful soul, always positive and was a motivator to everyone. Bushrod loved playing guitar with his son, river family and friends and especially loved motorcycles. He is survived by sons Richard Hostler and wife Darlene of Bunker Hill and Kenneth Hostler and wife Maria of Harpers Ferry and daughter Regina Hostler and dear friend Allen Edwards of Kearneysville, brothers Mike Hostler and wife Brenda of Frederick and Jerry Hostler and wife Kay of Harpers Ferry and eight grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by brother, Roland Hostler, Jr., sisters, June Wiley, Frances Hostler and Joann Hostler and grandchildren, Angel Faith and Dylan Vaughn. Funeral services will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, March 6, 2021 at the Jefferson Chapel with the Pastor Floyd “Bucky” Chapman officiating. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends 2 p.m. Visitors are asked to wear mask, practice social distancing and follow directives. In lieu of flowers family request donations to be made for David Hostler, c/o Jefferson Chapel, 114 N. Mildred St., Ranson, WV 25438.
