Eugene Emil “Gene” Lasecki, 80, of Martinsburg, with the Lord’s hand on his shoulder, went to be at a better place on Wednesday, January 23, 2013, at City Hospital.
Born April 29, 1932, in Pulaski, WI, he was the son of the late Emil Lasecki and Louise Lasecki Sorby.
He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the 150 Midwest Operators Union.
Mr. Lasecki was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church.
He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Margaret “Peggy” Walton Lasecki; two sons, Allan Lasecki and Eugene Lasecki, Jr.,; three daughters, Norma Jean Lasecki, Barbara Ann Lasecki and Patty McFarland, all of Arkansas; one step-son, David Peterson, of Rhode Island; three step-daughters, Kathryn M. McKeon, of Rhode Island; Pamela Jean Gordon, of Germany, and Julia Anne Tune, of Maryland; and a number of grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ervin Lasecki, of North Carolina, and Ronald Lester, of Illinois.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 2, 2013 at Trinity Episcopal Church with The Rev. Julie Harris officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, 200 W. King St., Martinsburg, WV 25401.
