Robert J. (Bob) Miller, 78, of Bunker Hill, passed away June 28 under Hospice at his residence surrounded by his family following an eleven year battle with Alzheimer’s. Born March 13, 1942, in Hedgesville, he was the son of the late Robert Joseph Miller and Lillian V. Roach Miller of Hedgesville. Bob was of the Christian faith. He was a high school graduate and a licensed real estate agent with Bayliss Realty and Professional Realty. In his earlier years, he worked at General Motors in Delaware, returning home and accepting a job with Mack Truck in Hagerstown, MD on June 20, 1966. He retired from Mack Truck in 1998 with thirty-two years of service. Bob loved his job at Mack Truck and would often share many work experiences of his job with his family. Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and talking to people. He never met a stranger and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. During his life he became an avid fisherman and skilled hunter. His greatest delight was passing on his skills to his sons. He loved cheering on the WV Mountaineers and Dallas Cowboys, and Johnny Cash. He would often belt out a song, sounding just like Johnny Cash. Bob is predeceased by his father, Robert J. Miller, his mother, Lillian Roach Miller, his brothers Ray and William Miller, and his beloved granddaughter, Madison Walker. He is survived by his wife, Linda Miller, with whom he shared an amazing life with. In addition to his wife, he is also survived by his beloved son, Michael (Pickle) Miller and wife Karen Baird-Miller, beloved son Joseph Miller and wife, Sarah, beloved daughter Michelle Walker, Wanda Lamp, the mother of his children, beloved grandchildren, Travis, Kassi, Sam, Grayson, Amy, Camden, Payton, several grandchildren and loyal friends Tom and Connie Stuckey whom he loved dearly. Bob was well loved and would often comment that he has lived a full, great life thanks to his family and all of those special people that shared their live with him. He will be greatly missed by all. The Brown Funeral Home South Berkeley Chapel in Inwood will be open for family to receive friends from 12:00PM – 1:00PM on Thursday, July 2, 2020, followed by funeral service at 1:00PM. Interment will be in Pleasant View Memory Gardens. Guests are reminded they will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives with seating.
