Billie Blevins

Billie Forest Blevins, 51 of Oak Hill, passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at his home. Born June 11, 1965 in Oak Hill, he was the son of the late Sheryl J. Blevins-Worstell and Billie Roger Blevins. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his much loved grandparents, Forest and Maxine Worstell. Billie was a 1983 Honor graduate of Oak Hill High School and a 2001 graduate of WVU-Tech with a degree in Automotive Service Technology. He was a former manager at AutoZone in Beckley and Oak Hill. Billie loved going to the beach, listening to 70’s music, and working on his prized Mustangs. Survivors include his wife, Suzan Blevins of Oak Hill; daughter and his pride and joy, Savannah Kristin Blevins of Oak Hill; step-son, Eric Barrett II and wife Alaina of Oak Hill; in-laws, David and Ruth Morris of Oak Hill; aunt, Joyce Taylor of Smithers; cousin, John Taylor III and his son John “J.T.” Taylor IV of Smithers; sisters-in-law, Cheryl Champion and husband Richard of Oak Hill and Paula Fridley and husband Mike of Fayetteville; aunts, Carol Perry and husband Fred of Fayetteville and Teresa Benson of Rocklick. Billie had a special place in his heart for his granddaughters Serenity “Little Monster” and Amelia “Little Gorilla” Barrett. He loved swimming and talking cars with his nephews, Brandon and Braxton Champion. He was also proud of his nieces, Hannah and Ashley Fridley. Billie will be greatly missed by Special Childhood friends Josette Settle Smith of Oak Hill, Ben Vicars and his family of Prosperity, Donnie Wolfe of Clearwater, FL, and James “J.D.” Frame of Beckley. Services for Mr. Blevins will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Pastor Greg Swisher officiating. Interment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park where family and friends will serve as pallbearers as well as Brandon and Braxton Champion serving as junior pallbearers. Friends may call from 12-2pm on Saturday at High Lawn Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers donations of sympathy may be made in Billie’s memory to The Van Fund at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Hill. The family would like to say a special “Thank You” to Allen Poff, Kecia Davis, Amanda Haney, Robert Sovine, and the Oak Hill Police Department for all their help.
