Connie Ella Comer, 67, of Oak Hill went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 after passing away from a short illness while at Duke University Hospital. Born January 11, 1950 at Minden she was the daughter of the late Wandew Cecil Kincaid and Ruby Vida Settle Radford. Connie was preceded in death by a brother William “W.C.” Kincaid, paternal grandparents William and Maudie Kincaid and maternal grandparents Herbert and Ella Merle Settle whom she was named after. Connie was a homemaker, avid cookbook collector, spiritual servant and prayer warrior both inside and outside of her church, the Summerlee Freewill Baptist Church which is of the Pentecostal faith. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Sherry Jenkins and husband Larry, granddaughter Brianna Jenkins and grandson Brennon Reynolds, all of Bessemer City, NC; brothers John Settle of Ingram Branch, Edmond Kincaid of Oak Hill, Adam Kincaid of Page; sisters Vonda Nichols and Mary Clement of Page, Donna Dickerson of Fayetteville; she was cherished by a host of nieces, nephews and church family. A celebration of Connie's life will be conducted at 1pm Monday, March 13, 2017 at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Rev. Dwayne Peyatt and Rev. Randy McGuire officiating, also friends and family to share their many memories of Connie. Interment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held from 6-8pm at High Lawn Funeral Home on Sunday, March 12, 2017.
