Jimmie C. Souder 78 of Oak Hill passed away November 4, 2013 following a short illness. He was born in Mabscot, WV on Sep. 9, 1935 to the late Hallie and Easter Souder In addition to his parents He was preceded in death by 2 sisters Phyllis and Linda. Jimmie was a retired coal miner from Siltex mine in Mt Hope WV. He was a veteran of the US navy having served in the Korean War. He was a member of the NRA, the United States Bowling Congress, attended North Sand Branch Worship Center; He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, and spending time with his family and friends. Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 54 Years Verna Souder; 2 sons Timothy Souder and wife Jackie of Seneca, SC, Pastor Ken Souder and wife Sandra of Prosperity, WV; daughter, Terri Souder of Oak Hill, WV; 2 grandsons, Ryan Souder of Columbus, Ohio and Jared Souder of Oak Hill, WV. Service will be 1 PM Thursday, November 7, 2013 at High Lawn Funeral Chapel, Oak Hill, WV with Pastor Mickey Mitchell and Pastor Ken Souder officiating. Burial will follow Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, Oak Hill, WV. Friends may call from 6-8 PM Wednesday November 6 at the funeral Home.
