Marvin Higginbotham

Marvin Gerald Higginbotham, 66 of Glen Jean, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family following a short illness. Born on May 18, 1951 to the late Johnny Higginbotham and Oma Mae Sears Higginbotham. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Marsha Canterbury Higginbotham; daughter, Camela Ann Higginbotham Mallow; brother, James Higginbotham; brother-in-law, Jack Kessinger. Mr. Higginbotham attended church at the Mabscott Baptist Church and also enjoyed going to the beach. Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Paula Rose Higginbotham; children, Kim Higginbotham Sears and husband Paul of Harvey, WV and Jennifer Higginbotham of Glen Jean; sisters, Ruby Kessinger of Oak Hill, Marlee Jones and Frankie of Mount Hope, Virginia Helton and Vic of Beckley, Nilah Clemins and Charles of Oak Hill; sister-in-law, Minnie Higginbotham of Shady Spring; grandchildren, Tyler, Cassidey, and Ethan Pennington, Amanda Sears Hildebrand, Amber Sears Kees, Aaliyah Sears, Ashley Ince, K.C. Mallow, Kelsey Radford, Lynsey Huddle, Cameron Radford, Emily Huddle, Tyler Bragg, Jayce Bragg, Reece Huddle; great grandchildren, Kendrick Kees, Kiersten Hildebrand, Bailey Hildebrand, Kinslee Hildebrand, and one expected great granddaughter on the way; also a host of nieces and nephews. Services to honor the life of Marvin Higginbotham will be conducted at 2pm Monday, July 17, 2017 at the High Lawn Funeral Home Chapel in Oak Hill with Rev. Doug Holley officiating. Entombment will follow at High Lawn Memorial Park also in Oak Hill. Friends may gather at the funeral home from 1pm until the time of the services on Monday.
