Clarence Morgan

Clarence Freeman Morgan, 82, of Hepzibah, died at 8:15pm, Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at the Louis A. Johnson VAMC, Clarksburg. He was born in Shinnston, July 19, 1928 a son of the late Herbert Clarence and Emma Myrtle Starkey Morgan. On August 26, 1949 he married, Virginia Ruth Lamb Morgan who survives him. Also surviving are 1 son, Brian Freeman Morgan and his wife Tammy, Barrackville, 2 daughters, Connie V. Leep and her husband Jack, Hepzibah, Vera Belle Somers and her husband Pete, West Milford, 5 grandchildren, Michelle Spurlock and her husband Clayce, Stonewood, Steven Woofter and his wife Niki, Bridgeport, Joshua Leep and his wife Heather, Clarksburg, Justin Brian Morgan and his wife Amber, Tonganoxie, KS, Zackery Leep, Hepzibah, 7 great-grandchildren, 1 sister-in-law, Sharon Morgan and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 3 brothers, Virgil, Donald, and James C. Morgan and 2 sisters Hazel Carter and Ethel Barrett. Mr. Morgan worked as a trackman for the B&O Railroad and a Truck Driver for Parson Souders. He was a WWII veteran having served with the United States Army. He was a past president of the Hepzibah Grade School PTA and member of the Hepzibah Baptist Church for over 55 years where he had been a member of the choir. Friends may call at the Perine Funeral Home, Rt. 19 South, Shinnston, from 3-9pm, Friday where funeral services will be held at 11am, Saturday, July 16 with Pastors Todd Jarman and Bob Merritt officiating.
