Karen Vernon

Karen Lee Vincent-Vernon, of Shinnston, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2017, due to complications believed to be attributed to her extended illness. Karen resided at the time of death at Meadowview Manor, Bridgeport, where she was cared for and attended to for the last almost eight years. She was born in Charleston, SC on November 6, 1963. She is survived by her oldest son Lance C. Vernon, and wife Brenda Vernon of Worthington; and her youngest son Andrew C. Vernon, and wife Ashley Vernon of Clarksburg; along with her husband and her sons' father Russell B. Vernon of Shinnston. She is also survived by her three grandchildren, Hope Vernon, daughter of son Lance Vernon. Mila and Emma Vernon daughters of son Andrew Vernon and daughter-in-law, Ashley Vernon. Karen also has a surviving sister, Diane Vincent Morgan and her husband E. Aaron Morgan and nieces Faith and Kassidy Morgan whom also reside in Clarksburg; and a surviving brother, Matthew W. Vincent and wife Jacqueline Vincent along with nephew Sean N. Vincent and three nieces, Sarah Price and husband Brandon and son Gregory, Georgia Jackson, and Jennifer Jackson, all residing in Newport News, VA. As well as her half brother, Nyle Vincent and wife Allie Vincent who reside in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by parents William L. Vincent of St. Mary's Georgia and Ruth Natalie Kidd Vincent of Shinnston. She will be greatly missed by family and friends. Her life was one of strength and challenges, but she was loved dearly by those who knew her and were a part of her life. The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St. Shinnston, on Thursday from 2-8PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 28th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Ira Timmins officiating. Interment will follow at the Mt.
