Brannon H. “Bud” Foster, 89, of N. Main Avenue, Weston, passed away Monday, July 23 2012 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born in Lewis County on February 3, 1923, a son of the late Homer G. and Ocie (Bennett) Foster. He is survived by his wife of 65 years the former Lily Dale Smith. Also surviving are six daughters: Sue Mowery, Sondra Granlund, Vicki Jordan, Carol Snyder, Penny (Jim) Rohrbough and Christine Gum all of Weston. One son: Gary Foster of Weston. Ten grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. One brother survives Carl (Isabelle) Foster of Weston. Mr. Foster was preceded in death by two son-in-laws, Gary Snyder and Ron Granlund, three brothers and two sisters. Mr. Foster spent his working life in the glass houses of Lewis County before retiring with many years of service. He served his Country and was a veteran of the United States Army Air Forces, 66th Airdrome squadron, where he was an airplane armorer and participated in the Normandy and European Air Offensives during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post # 4 of Weston. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and WVU athletics and was Methodist by faith. Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Ave., Weston, on Thursday, July 26, from 5-8 P.M. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, July 27, at 11:00 A.M. from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Ron Brown officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. Full military honors will be conducted by the Lewis County Honor Guard and the United States Army.
