Elmer Dale Burkhamer, 89, of York, SC passed away on Monday, February 20, 2017 at his home. Elmer was the son of the late Ammon Burkhamer and Opal (Short) Burkhamer. He was a veteran of the US Army serving during the Korean War and was a retired from the State of Ohio as food service manager. Elmer was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in York, SC. Mr. Burkhamer is survived his wife, Beulah (Lowther) Burkhamer, 3 children: Kevin (Jean Marie) Burkhamer, Karla (Phillip) Cooper, and Karen (Mike) Walsh, 4 brothers: Ray Burkhamer, Edsil Burkhamer, Marvin Burkhamer and Alan Burkhamer, 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Elmer was preceded in death by 2 sons: Kendal Burkhamer and Kerry Burkhamer, 1 brother: Wendell Burkhamer and 1 sister: Maxine Smith. Family and friends will be received at Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, February 24, 2017 from 5-7 p.m. Graveside services will be held on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. from the Rock Grove Cemetery of Linn, WV with Pastor Edward Lathan officiating.
