Iva Jane Curtis, 69, of 469 Perry Ables Hollow Weston passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at her residence following an extended illness. She was born in Lewis County on January 1, 1942: daughter of the late Henry Ables and Mammie (Townsand) Ables. On June 11, 1960, she married Clarence “Ed” Curtis, who survives. In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters: Donna Sue Goodwin, Dorothy Curtis, Jennifer (John) Pumphrey all of Weston and three sosns: Dale Curtis, David Curtis and Darrel (Melissa) Curtis all of Weston. Also surviving are ten grandchildren: Chrystal Ramsburg, Michelle Kittle, Shannon Lowther, Carrie Curtis, Kassandra Hughes, Jossie Curtis, Megan and Haley Pumphrey and Lesley and Lori Thomas and two great grandchildren: Kamryn Ramsburg and Orion Kittle. Daughter Dorothy Curtis and granddaughter Kassandra Hughes made their home with Iva and Ed. Also surviving are two brothers: James Ables of Ireland, WV and Jerry Ables of Ashland, OH, two sisters: Mary Curtis of Buckhannon and Vernie Riffle of Jane Lew and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by one sister: Delphia Ables. Mrs. Curtis operated a Board & Care Home and also was a dietary aide at Weston State Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and working in flowers. She also loved Country music, quilting and crocheting. Iva enjoyed cooking for Sunday dinners and holidays. She was a Methodist by faith. Friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, October 21, 2011 from 2-3 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 3:00 p.m. from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Pastor Jay Burkhart officiating.
