Mary Jane Kelley, age 78, of Carleton, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 in Carleton, MI.Born on September 23, 1939 in Sutton, West Virginia, she was the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Posey) McPherson. On November 18, 1959 she married Jerry R. Kelley. She was employed with Airport Community School System as a Teacher for 22 years until retiring in 1994.Jane was a founding member of the Airport Consortium, Past President of the Airport Teachers Union, member of the MEA, a Charter member of the Airport Head Start program and a member of the Burnsville, WV. Alumni Association. She was a part of the Monroe County Homemakers, an extension through the 4H club. Jane loved to shop for treasures, was an avid collector of Antiques and enjoyed making art and craft projects. She once owned the Country Treasures Antique Shop. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Thomas and Donald. Surviving are husband, Jerry Robert Kelley of Carleton; sons, Robert H. (Linda) Kelley of Lachine, MI, Ronald T. (Pamela) Kelley of St. Charles, MO, and Michael J. (Laura) Kelley of Monroe; daughter, Deborah J. (Scot) Tomich of Marion, MI; 9 grandchildren, Brandy, Kelley, Jerry Kelley, Thomas Kelley, Sarah Kelley, Kellie Tomich, Kyle Tomich, Ryan Wilkerson, Sean Wilkerson and Joshua Durden; 6 great-grandchildren, Braden, Lila and Lucy Prielipp, Austin, Noah and McKenzie Durden; brother, Ronald McPherson and sister, Patricia Stutler. Friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Friday, November 17, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. Following visitation a graveside service will be held on Friday at the McPherson Cemetery of OIl Creek Road Orlando, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions in her memory may be made to the Burnsville Alumni Association, Burnsville, West Virginia.
