Maxine Virginia Smith, 94, of Greenbelt, MD passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017 in Hillhaven following an extended illness. She was born in West Virginia on May 6, 1923: daughter of the late Roy Hinzman and Chaffie (Warner) Hinzman. In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Burl Smith and brothers and sister: Dorothy Taylor and Hayward, Tom, Orval and Norval Hinzman.
Mrs. Smith is survived by her loving children: Gary (Edie) Smith, Sharon (Lee) Periard, Gregory (Margie Earman) Smith, Steven (Debbie Baggett) Smith, her special grandchildren: Jeff, Kristen, Jason, Jarrett, Eric and Nicole and great grandchildren: Jacob, Kacie, Abby, Frankie, Sydney, Cade, Chase, Addison and Clare. She is also survived by her brother: John Hinzman and sister: Betty Cottrill
Mrs. Smith was a homemaker. Over her 94 years there were many changes to her world. Her greatest joy was her loving family- children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters and nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home 730 N. Main Avenue Weston on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 10 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon from the Hardman-Paletti Funeral Home chapel with Reverend Tim Conrad officiating.
