Beatrice Lucille Meyers Obituary

Beatrice Lucille Meyers ,84, of Kenosha passed away peacefully at Brookside Care Center going to her eternal home on Tuesday August 20th.

Born in Gaines, West Virginia on February 1, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Martha (Payne) Crawford. Moving from West Virginia, she graduated from Washington High School, Massillon, Ohio.

On July 10, 1948 she was united in marriage to Robert Lee Meyers. They enjoyed 51 years together until his death December 14, 1999. Moving to Kenosha in 2005 to be nearer her daughter, she resided several happy years at Lakeside Towers. She moved to Brookside Care Center in 2010.

She worked occasionally throughout her life in various retail stores. She was a talented seamstress, sewing for her daughters and grandchildren. She loved music playing the clarinet, piano, and organ and possessed a beautiful singing voice. She will be most remembered and honored for her selfless devotion as she lovingly cared for her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Cynthia Meyers, Delaware, Ohio and Nancy (Stephen) Bickle, Kenosha, her sister, Imogene (Jack) McCool, Massillon, Ohio, sister-in-law, Betty Meyers, Newark, Ohio. She was an important part in the lives of her 5 grandchildren, Jeff (Leslie) Moore and Julie Howard of Delaware, Ohio, Lucas Bickle and Ethan (Reannyn)Bickle of Kenosha and Rebecca (Benjamin) Hauert of Oswego Il. She adored her 6 great-grandchildren, who knew her as “G.G.” for Great-Gram: Chase, Chelsea, Madyson, Aidan, Josias, and Raynah. She leaves behind several nieces and nephews, many friends at Brookside and extended family and friends in Ohio.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sister, Violet Riffle and 2 brothers, Carl and Hartzel Crawford.

To honor Beatrice’s wishes, private family services will be held Sunday, August 25th; a memorial will follow at a later date in Newark, Ohio.

The family graciously thanks the entire staff of Brookside Care Center for their faithfulness, mercy and kindness shown daily to our mother. We express our thanks to Dr. Chua for her compassionate, caring spirit. We are so grateful to Hospice Alliance for holding us in their loving hands during Mom’s final days on this earth.
