David Horsley

David Boyd Horsley, 55, of Kenosha, passed away from a lengthy illness (neurofibromatosis II) on Thursday, July 4, 2013, at Brookside Care Center. Born in Kenosha on October, 14, 1957, he was the son of Dr. D. Boyd and Susan Ann (Wade) Horsley. He was a graduate of the University of Wisconsin and received a Master’s Degree in Organic Chemistry from Northern Illinois University. He had been employed by the Department of Agriculture and Morton Thiokol in Chicago, IL. He was co-author of a number of original scientific research papers. A member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, David loved to fish, ski and had been a varsity high school tennis player. Surviving David are his parents, Dr. Boyd and Susan Horsley of Kenosha; a sister, Susanne (Mark) Johns of Simpsonville, SC; a brother, Tom Horsley of Door County; his niece and nephew, Samantha and Christopher Johns; cousins, Paul Wade and Nancy Lehrke, both of Kenosha and Beth Horsley of Richmond, VA; and his former wife, Teresa. David’s family would like to acknowledge the years of excellent care provided to Dave by all the staff at Brookside Care Center and Dr. Ernesto Buencamino. Special recognition to dear Rose for her love and dedication, in addition to Gilda, Dorothy, Lynn, Sarah and Barb. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, 5900-7th Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Fish Creek, WI, at the Church of the Atonement Memorial Garden. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church or Brookside Care Center.
