Emil Pietrangeli Obituary

Emil Pietrangeli, 95, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at St. Catherine’s Medical Center in Pleasant Prairie. Born in Kenosha on September 10, 1917, he was the son of the late Frederick and Rosalie (DiMario) Pietrangeli. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, he attended local schools and the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. On March 19, 1939, he married Mary H. Bellaver at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He had been employed by the American Brass and American Motors as an Expeditor in the Planning Dept. retiring April 1, 1983. He also worked for many construction companies in the Kenosha area. Emil was a member of St. James Catholic Church, Financial Secretary for local #237, AMC, was an Umpire for the All American Professional Girls Baseball Association, and a member of the Old Timers Baseball Club. Surviving are his wife of 73 years, Mary; a daughter, Joan (Robert) Pagnini of Cleveland, OH; his daughter-in-law, Diana Pietrangeli of Yorkville, IL; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and eight step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Neil Jon Pietrangeli; three sisters, Angelina, Giggini and Neilina; and a brother, Gene. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 6th, from Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. James Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery.
