Evelyn Jensen

Evelyn L. Jensen, 101, of Kenosha, went to be with her heavenly father on August 30, 2013. Born in Kenosha on May 2, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Agnes (Terry) Neu. She lived in Paris, WI, and graduated from St. John’s School. Her family then moved to Kenosha and she attended Washington Junior High School. On January 1, 1932, she married Raymond J. Jensen. He preceded her in death on December 31, 1979. Evelyn went to work at Coopers at the age of sixteen and worked there for 21 years. She was a member St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church and was also a member of the Altar Society. She later joined St. Peter’s Catholic Church when St. Thomas closed. Evelyn was a former member of the Women of the Moose, the Senior Citizens Bowling League, and was a lifelong Cubs fan. She was also a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed knitting, making many things for her grandchildren. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Karen (Elton) Hubbard of Kenosha; six grandchildren, Randall Jensen, Lori (Gary) Sowma, Susan Seidenspinner, Patrick (Shelly) Jensen, Ron Hubbard and Wendi Hubbard; twelve great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Robert Jensen on December 4, 1997; her grandson, Douglas Jensen on August 29, 1987; and four brothers, Clarence, Robert, Eugene and Earl Neu. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 4th, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
