Glen Krueger

Glen Arthur Krueger, 81, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, May 22nd, 2007, at his residence. Born on November 24, 1925, in Kenosha, he was the son of the late Herman A. and Edna C. (Wallis) Krueger. He attended local schools and received his diploma after returning from World War II. On July 12, 1986, he married Maxine L. "Mickey" Krueger at Wilmot United Methodist Church in Wilmot, WI. She preceded him in death on April 4, 2001. He enlisted on January 17, 1944, in the United States Army. He was with the 221 A/B Medical Company and was attached to the 91st Field Hospital. He served in the Philippines and Japan. He was honorably discharged at Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture; Honshu, Japan, on January 25, 1946. He received the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with one bronze star, the Phil Lib Medal, World War II Victory Medal, America Theater Ribbon, and District Unit Citation. After leaving the Army, he became a mason and worked for many different construction companies in the area, retiring in 1985 due to a torn rotator cuff. He was a life member of the International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers, to which he belonged for over 50 years. He belonged to the Silver Dollar Club for many, many years and always carried his Silver Dollar with him wherever he went. He attended Wilmot United Methodist Church and helped with many different projects there. He was always willing to lend a hand to his friends and neighbors. He is survived by his stepdaughter, Diane L. (Robert) Krueger of Kenosha; stepson, Terry T. (Diane) Krueger of Burlington; five grandchildren, Adam T., Kevin T., Mark G., Todd R., and Scott J. Krueger; one great-grandchild, Braelyn M. Krueger; a sister, Judy A. Curtiss of Kenosha; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Donna Jean Krueger; five brothers, Roy A., Thomas W., Donald E., Robert A., and Jack W. Krueger; and three sisters, Ethel Mae Krueger Swanson, Dorothy Ann Krueger, and Joan Schilling. Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25th, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 am. Interment to follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening at Proko Funeral Home from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Wilmot United Methodist Church would be appreciated by the family.
