Helen Christine (Breuninger) Low, 88, died June 20, 2013, at Bethany Riverside Nursing Facility in La Crosse, WI.
Helen was born on March 19, 1925, in Sheboygan, WI, to the late Lily (Eichstaedt) and Carl Breuninger. She attended schools in Sheboygan and graduated from North High School in 1943.
She served in the U.S. Navy, where she met her beloved husband Melvin. They were united in marriage on June 1, 1946, in Bainbridge, GA.
Helen was very active in Eastern Star and was Worthy Matron of Kenosha Chapter and Grand Worthy Matron for the State of Wisconsin. She loved gardening, doing crafts, and traveling.
Helen worked for the Kenosha County Assessor's office.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Borland of La Crosse and Christine (William) Wilbik of Kenosha, three grandchildren, James (Lisa) Borland, Christopher (Vickie) Wilbik and Scott (Denise) Hopkins; twelve great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and caring friend, Sheila Karraker.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin Low; and grandchild, Jill Wilbik.

A visitation will be held for Helen on Wednesday, June 26, 2013, at the Proko Funeral Home from 3:00 p.m. until time of service at 5:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
