James Earl Brown Obituary

James E. Brown, Sr., 78, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at ManorCare. Born in Chicago, IL, on October 15, 1938, he was the son of the late Boisy and Anna (King) Brown, Sr. He was educated in Chicago schools and came to Kenosha in 1994. James worked as the head dishwasher at Dairyland Greyhound Park. He enjoyed hunting and watching sports, always rooting for the Chicao Bears and the Chicago White Sox. Survivors include his companion, Margaret Price of Kenosha; four children, Shirley (Earett) Fisher of Bolingbrook, IL, Lois (John) Wright of Kansas City, MO, Audrey Brown of Plano, TX, and James Brown, Jr. of Kenosha; two sisters, Barbara (Lemmie) Jenkins and Charlotte Adams, both of Chicago, IL; sister-in-law, Rosie Price of Kenosha; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Celeste Powers; and three brothers, Boisy Brown, Jr., Edward Brown, and Charles Brown. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7th, at Proko Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
