James “Jim” LeRoy Luther, 77, of Kenosha, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013, at Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie surrounded by his loving family and friends.
Born on January 9, 1936, in Zion, IL, he was the son of the late Harry and Doris (Casperson) Luther. He graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School.
On April 19, 1958, he married Juanita Rehn in Evanston, IL. They resided in Kenosha since 1962. Juanita preceded him in death on May 29, 2006.
Jim was employed as a Tool & Dye Maker at In-Sink-Erator until his retirement in 2001.
He was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He enjoyed stock car racing, deer hunting, shell crafting in Florida, and playing card games and dominoes with friends at the senior center. He was known as the neighborhood “Fix It Guy”.
Jim is survived by two children, Scott (Terri) Luther of Waverly, TN, and Jeff (Dolores) Luther of Kenosha; one grandchild, Amanda Luther; one brother, Roger (Mona) Luther of Beach Park, IL; and two sisters, Norma (Jerry) Royce of Pleasant Prairie and Barbara (Charlie) Lotz of Surprise, AZ.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 31st, at Proko Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, August 30th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Hospice Alliance, 10220 Prairie Ridge Blvd, Pleasant Prairie, WI 53158, would be greatly appreciated by the family.
