Jim Gilliam Kenosha, Wisconsin Obituary

Jim Gilliam

"Gentlemen" Jim Gilliam was known as a self-made man who took great pride in being self-employed since his early twenties. Jim was a popular Saugus Speedway Track favorite who was well-known for helping fellow drivers at every turn. He went on to become a Goodyear Racing Tire Dealer, supporting the West Coast for many years. His passion for racing pressed him to start, own and operate the Dura-Light Racing Wheel Company of Meeker, OK. With an entrepreneur spirit, this pioneer revolutionized the racing wheel industry by inventing and patenting the state-of-the-art, splined Racing Wheel Center. After retirement, he poured himself into restoring and building hotrods of choice. Jim lived life to the fullest, a true legacy we'll never forget. Jim leaves behind a loving family who will miss him greatly, three sons: Robert Gilliam of Meeker, OK, Brian and Kimberly Gilliam of Meeker, OK, James and Lorisha Gilliam of Shawnee, OK; nine grandchildren: Michael and Dara Gilliam of Meeker, OK, Rachel and Trevor Watts of Prague, OK, Julia Gilliam of Meeker, OK, Anthony Woodall of Tulsa, OK, Alexis Gilliam, Sarenity Wells and Jaymie Gilliam of Shawnee, OK; and ten brothers and sisters.
