Marjorie Burnett

Marjorie M. Burnett, 94, of Kenosha, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2013, at Brookside Care Center with her family at her side. Born on June 2, 1919, in Kenosha, she was the daughter of the late Jacob and Bessie (Gardener) Herrmann. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools. On December 2, 1937, she married Joseph E. Burnett in Indiana. He preceded her in death on October 20, 1994. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. For many years Marjorie worked at the family store Herrmann Gift and Variety Store. Marjorie is survived by her five children, Ronald “Ron” (Marlene) Burnett of Kenosha, James (Nancy) Burnett of Kenosha, Joan Burnett of Minnesota, Michael (Mary) Burnett of Racine and Richard “Rick” (Lynn) Burnett of Somers; a sister, Dorothy Raymond of Kenosha; 18 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandson, Jeffrey Burnett, and a sister, Marion Jorgenson. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the entire staff of Brookside Care Center for the excellent and loving care given to our mother for the time she was there. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 15th, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held on Monday at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Interment at All Saints Mausoleum will be private.
