Marvin G. Williams, Jr., 50, passed away on January 8, 2017, in Waukegan, IL. Born in Tallahassee, FL, on October 9, 1966, Marvin was raised in Quincy, FL, by his mother and step-father. At the age of 18, he joined the US Navy. After serving for two years, he moved up to the Chicagoland area, where he met his wife of 14 years ('93-'07), Stacy GroveMarqui. Marvin and Stacy moved to Kenosha, WI, in 1993, where they raised their two daughters, Kelsie, July 16, 1995, and Marissa, August 10, 1996. Marvin is survived by his daughters, Kelsie and Marissa Williams; his mother, Lillian Brown-Henry; his father, Marvin Williams, Sr.; brothers, Kenneth (Regina) Brown, Lorenzo Brown, Reginald (Karen) Williams, Alonzo (Ann) Williams, Marlon Williams, and Brandon (Eve) Williams; sisters, Angela Brown, Anissa Henry, Valerie (Dwayne) Murphy, Bree Williams, and Diandra Williams; ten nieces; twelve nephews; five great-nieces; and four great-nephews. Marvin was welcomed Home by his grandmother, Laura Daniels; step-father, Sonny Henry; and in-laws, Kenneth and Janet Grove. Marvin had a lot of hobbies and a strong love for things in life like golfing, NASCAR, the Florida State University Seminoles, the Green Bay Packers, playing poker and going to the movies. He spent a lot of these passions with his friends that he met while working at Cardinal Health for 22 years. His second Kenosha family, the Sebetics, welcomed Marvin as part of their family for every holiday dinner and to help him out as family does for each other. What Marvin most valued in life were his daughters. Marvin and the girls spent quality time together doing activities around town such as mini putt, going to the movies, and going out for dinner or ice cream; but they also enjoyed relaxing at home and having great, memorable conversations. Marvin and his youngest daughter, Marissa, shared a love for the game of golf and spent many days out on the fairway or at the driving range. If they were not found there, chances are you would find them at home sharing their obsession for “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. Since he was raised in Florida, Marvin was a strong Florida State fan – a love that he passed down to his oldest daughter, Kelsie. The two would spend time together watching the Seminoles and even attended one FSU football game together in the fall of 2016 with family. Marvin, Kelsie, and Marissa got to make one more dream come true when they spent Christmas Eve 2016 at Lambeau Field watching their first live Green Bay Packers game together. Marvin was a man of few words; but the love for his two girls, parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, and friends that became family, was never quiet. A memorial gathering will take place on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Proko Funeral Home, 5111-60th Street, Kenosha, WI, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 4:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to further the education of Kelsie and Marissa would be appreciated. Marvin's greatest pride was knowing that his two girls would graduate from college.
