Roy Alan Huber Kenosha, Wisconsin Obituary

Roy Alan Huber

Roy Alan Huber, 68, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 18, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie. Roy was born in Kenosha on April 11, 1947, the son of the late Martin and Viola (Schmidt) Huber. He attended St. George Elementary School, St. Joseph High School, and was a 1965 graduate of Mary D. Bradford High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and was stationed in both the United States and Korea. On October 25, 1969, at St. James Catholic Church, Roy was united in marriage to Joan Rhey. Roy worked as a machine repairman at AMC/Chrysler for many years. He was also employed by Eaton Dynamatic and the Zion Nuclear Power Plant. Roy was the manager of his son’s Little League Team and the Union Leader for IAM Local 34 at Chrysler. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Roy loved his family and he has a special place in his heart for his grandchildren and treasured the time spent with them. In his retirement his dream of restoring a 1962 Grand Prix was reached with the help of great friends driving it to the Kenosha Car Show last summer. He enjoyed taking motorcycle and car road trips with his wife, Joan, and friends. Being big Wisconsin sport fans, Roy and Joan attended numerous Badger and Packer games as well as the 2010 Rose Bowl. He was a compassionate man who offered assistance and support to new laryngectomy patients. Roy was a hard worker, provider and caregiver to his family. Roy will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 45 years, Joan Marie; his three children, Jennifer Rae (Kristopher) Kahle of Racine, Amy Elizabeth (Tom) Grund of Kenosha and Ryan Christopher Huber (Kelly Maloney) of Madison; three grandchildren, Camden Grund, Brooke Kahle, and Taylor Kahle; and sibling, Gayle (Bill) Lemke of Kenosha. The family would like to thank the staff at Heartland Hospice and Hospice Alliance for all of the wonderful care they gave to Roy. We are very grateful for the days we had with him and we will carry on his memory. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 21st, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 7300-39th Avenue, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery with military honors.
