Shirley Ladwig, 78, of Kenosha, found peace and eternal life on Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at St. Joseph Home for the Aged. Born on October 31, 1934, in Kirksville, MO, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Bertha (Mahurin) McCoy. On February 27, 1954, she married Donald Ladwig in Milwaukee and was married for 55 years before his death on June 20th, 2009. She was also preceded in death by her sisters (Joanne and Maurita) and brothers (Gaylord, Billy and Bob). She retired as an Administrator for Becker Inc. Shirley was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church where she also served as a treasurer. She enjoyed lunches with her church friends at Wendy’s and weekly visits and games of Yahtzee with her best friend Marilyn. She enjoyed working on puzzles and loved to shop, especially at craft fairs. She enjoyed sewing beautiful projects for her family and friends. She was an avid Brewers fan and her favorite player was Corey Hart. She especially enjoyed the Christmas season, but above all her first priority was spoiling her grandchildren. She is survived by her four sons, Keith (Chris), Scott (Jill), Dale (Catherine) and Brian (Tracy), nine grandchildren, one great-grandchild on the way, and her sister Nancy (Rodney) Nielson. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 7th, at Immanuel Baptist Church, 6009 Pershing Blvd., at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 6th, at the church from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Immanuel Baptist Church would be appreciated by the family.
